Schwannoma Case# 20281 This patient presented from another imaging facility with what was supposed to be a pseudo-aneurysm of the left neck near the subclavio-vertebral junction. A large palpable mass was grossly visible prior to sonogram examination. Initially a "stalk" similar to a pseudo-aneurysm is noted in image 3; however, spiculated flow within the mass rather than the universal "to-fro" motion is noted which rules out the pseudo-aneurysm. Patient was claiming that they had hit themselve in the neck accidentally with a hangar in a work related incident. At the conclusion of the examination the patient admitted that this lesion had been present for sometime and was recently increasing in size. In nearly seventeen years, I had never seen this lesion. Luckily, my partner who has over 20 years experience happened by and stated matter of factly "that's a Schwannoma and I had a patient with that 6 years ago."
