Atrial Septal Aneurysm
Fetal Atrial Septal Aneurysm Case# 19243 There are two (2) layers that form the atrial septum (primum and secundum). A defect in the delvelopment of these two layers leads to a "bowing" or wall aneurysm which is seen extending across into the LT cardiac atrium. If the wall "rubs" the lateral border of the LT Atrium, the branch A-V nodes will be effected leading to arrythmia.
